If your a skier and needed a reason to buy a iPhone here’s your excuse. A Colorado company based in Denver has developed “Snocator”. A iPhone application that will guide you around 60 Ski Areas via GPS data signals, Wi-Fi or users can download Trail Maps to their iPhone. Most resorts don’t have the best signals so downloading Trail Maps is a must.
When skiing and Snowboarding in unfamilar places this app will get lots of use. Lots of us who started skiing when we where young have become accustom to our local ski resort and have no problems find our way around. Not so when a East Coast New England Skier heads west to ski Colorado.
Colorado Ski couldn’t be any more different. Colorado Skiers don’t go to a Ski Resort, park the car and head to the day lodge to Boot Up. Colorado skiing entails starting your day with your Ski Equipment on. Their are no day lodges. So you more than likely start your day in one place and end in another if you don’t have knowledge of the resort. Take the Vail Trail Map. Its huge. The Snocator App can direct you to were you want to be. Even back to a meeting spot for the family or a after ski Apre Ski spot for a cup of hot chocolate.

How long have we had Apple Stores now? 5-6 years? The state of Maine just received there first Apple Store. Saturday September 13 Apple open it’s door in South Portland Maine. Isn’t it odd that the opening took so long. Mainers seem to be technology oriented along the coast at least. RT 95 is a main artery for drivers heading to Canada and there are tons of private school and colleges. Portland is only a hour or so from Boston and some people even commute to Boston for work. When people think of Maine they think trees and mills, but is really a modern state.
According to the Apple website the store will have the iPhone available, but when we called we were told they didnt have any 3g iPhone and waiting for more inventory. It’s hard to believe they didn’t have 3g Phones. After all it is a grand opening. I / we have been building this site since the inception of iPhone and seen some funny actions on the part of Apple & AT&T. Now when a user wants a iPhone they need to go to the store and they are opening the iPhone Box and performing some setup protocols. In the past anyone could go into AT&T and buy as many Iphones as they could carry, then bring them home and do the setup and downloads at home. Now (in my area) the AT&T store doesn’t even answer the phone. As a example I wanted to buy 6 to 10 iPhones to resell on eBay. I went to my local AT&T Store and was unable to. They wouldn’t let me take the phone sealed. This seams to be because users need to upgrade to the 3G Network. My point being the South Portland Main Store could have just been protecting the iPhone inventory.
If your in the area you can find the state of Maine’s first Apple Store in The Maine Mall, 364 Maine Mall Rd. South Portland, ME 04106
